Designed for households above EmPower+ income requirements, Comfort Home helps New Yorkers improve their home’s comfort and reduce utility bills with rebates of up to $3,000.

What Is Comfort Home?

Comfort Home is a NYSERDA program that rewards homeowners for making smart energy upgrades like air sealing and insulation. By reducing drafts and improving your home’s thermal barrier, you’ll enjoy year-round comfort and lower energy costs.

Unlike EmPower+, Comfort Home is designed for households that do not qualify for free upgrades but still want support in covering the cost of improvements.

What’s Included?

The Comfort Home Program offers three rebate packages to fit different home needs:

1. Air Sealing & Attic Package

   • Up to $1,600 in rebates

   • Includes attic and rim joist insulation and air sealing

2. Whole Home Insulation Package

   • Up to $3,000 in rebates

   • Includes attic, rim joist, wall, and floor insulation

   • Builds on the first package

3. Comprehensive Energy Upgrade Package

   • Maximum rebates available

   • Includes all of the above plus retrofitting windows to ENERGY STAR® standards

• New York State homeowners above EmPower+ income limits

• Residents seeking insulation, sealing, and energy efficiency upgrades

• Households working with qualified NYSERDA contractors (like REAP)
