Through NYSERDA’s EmPower+ program, eligible homeowners and renters can receive insulation, air sealing, lighting, and even appliance replacements at little to no cost. Our certified auditors and contractors guide you every step of the way — from determining eligibility to completing your upgrades — so you can start saving money and enjoying a more efficient home.
Who Can Apply
EmPower+ is available to:
Homeowners in 1–4 unit homes
Renters (with landlord approval)
Landlords with income-eligible tenants in 2–4 unit properties
Income Tiers
Tier 1 – Low-Income:
Free energy upgrades at no cost
Automatic eligibility for those receiving HEAP or SNAP benefits
Tier 2 – Moderate-Income:
Free home energy assessment
Discounts or financing covering up to 50% of project costs
